Couples.

“We now have a shared understanding of why communication was breaking down and what we can do now, both individually and as a couple, to change that.”

- C.B. and J.B

Couples therapy can help by supporting both partners to recognise that it’s okay to be “different but equal”.  It takes courage to acknowledge how you truly feel in a relationship, but we can help you start to re-write what happens next, taking each step one at a time.

Couples.

It is easy for one person or both people in a relationship, to lose focus on connecting with, listening to and supporting their partner. Relationships require hard work in order to ensure both parties feel mutually supported and secure.

We provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where both parties can talk openly about the problems or issues that they are struggling with and work to better understand and support one another.

If you would feel more comfortable discussing your issues with your therapist individually, you can opt for individual therapy sessions or you can attend couples’ therapy sessions and work on any communication and behavioural issues affecting your relationship together.

Whichever form of relationship therapy you choose, our therapists can help you identify new ways to rediscover the respect and friendship that was instrumental in bringing you and your partner together. Working with our supportive therapists can also help you to rebuild your confidence, see more options and possibilities in relating, and feel enabled to make empowered choices about your relationships.

Our therapists will help you to identify the issues you are facing, improve communication and resolve these issues. If the issues cannot be resolved, we will help you to part ways constructively.

Relationship Therapy provides you with the tools to:

  • Establish a constructive communication channel with your partner

  • Manage expectations effectively

  • Negotiate, compromise and resolve conflicts

  • See each other’s perspectives

  • Understand the impact of external factors, such as family values and lifestyle, on your relationship.

  • Identify ways to move forward

  • Help you to part ways constructively if issues cannot be resolved
