I am a qualified psychotherapist with a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Rational Emotive Therapy awarded by The College of Cognitive Therapies in London.  My training covers Integrative counselling as well as an in-depth knowledge of CBT and REBT which gives me a broad range of knowledge, skills and tools from different therapeutic modalities to utilize with clients.

I graduated from Kings College London with a MSc in Law and Arbitration and moved to Hong Kong whereat I gained my accreditation in Mediation. I worked for a major Construction Company and travelled extensively around Asia in my role as Contracts Advisor and Mediator. Upon my return to UK, I continued working in the field of dispute resolution,  mediating a range of disputes, including family, neighbourhood and employment disputes. This gave me an insight into relationships and how they can breakdown when one or both parties hold irrational demands.

Whilst doing a MA in Autism Studies at Kent University, I gained an in depth understanding of how the brain works and how thought patterns can create blocks preventing people from leading happy and fulfilling lives. I also acquired a comprehensive understanding of neuroplasticity and how the brain is capable of changing through growth and reorganisation. I now combine this knowledge with my experience of working in the field of dispute resolution with my psychotherapy training to offer a uniquely tailored REBT based therapy for both employees in the workplace and individuals struggling with emotional disturbance

Throughout my life I have struggled with being true to myself. I have experienced times in my life where I have felt completely lost – times when I have felt so overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, hurt and anger, provoked by conflicting wants, needs and demands that I have shut down. I have resorted to unhelpful, self-sabotaging behaviours, that I lost touch with myself.

Engaging in REBT has shown me that holding on to unhealthy beliefs and thoughts have led me to make unhelpful choices in my life, impacting on my self-esteem and my relationships. I now understand that I have to be honest with myself before I can be honest with anyone else. REBT taught me to confront and challenge the harsh realities that I so often avoided in the past. I have learnt that my feelings are valid and that sharing them is the key to healing what’s hurting. I have learnt to do what’s right for me because I recognize that I am the only one who can. But most importantly, I have learnt to live a life that doesn’t just look good on paper but also feels good in my heart.
